THE COMMUNITY CENTRE PROJECT

On 16/5/1993 exploratory "digs" were made on the land which was eventually to be the site for the Community Centre. Seen here are members of "Arkwrights", the main fund raisers for the project, at the first sample area. (Pic.R.Gooderham).

Seven years on and the new owners, Norfolk Homes, donate the site for the Community Centre and Police Beat Base to the village. (Pic.R.Gooderham).

16/6/2007 nearing completion of the first phase and was opened on14/7/2007 - The Library was to follow on. (Pic.R.Gooderham).

The Library gets off the ground and by mid-September 2007 had reached this stage. It would be another seven months before opening day. (Pic.NPS South East Ltd.).

Finished at last!The Police Beat Base, on the left ,the Community Centre,with the opening of the Library,April 2008, the cultural centre of the village is complete. (Pic. R.Gooderham).

Covid 19 Vaccination Centre April 2021

Poringland Community Centre was selected to be one of the first vaccination centres in Norfolk and covered an area as far south as Diss.
